The Election Office is responsible for conducting elections for all the political subdivisions within the county. The Johnson County, Kansas Election Office has an approved budget authority of twenty (20) full-time staff positions, including the staff position for the Election Commissioner.
Kansas law requires that counties with a population greater than 125,000 people must have an Election Commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State K.S.A. 19-3419.
