Advance Voting Sites

By Mail

Johnson County voters have two options for casting their ballot before Election Day. You can choose to have a ballot mailed to you by submitting an application for each election, or you can choose to visit one of our advance voting locations to cast your advance ballot in person.

Any registered voter can apply to vote by mail in any election. No reason is required, but you must submit an application for each election.

Applications pre-filled with your information are available by using our voter lookup tool. Blank applications are available online.

You can apply at any time, but ballots do not begin mailing until 20 days before an election. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before Election Day.

How to return your ballot?

  • By mail: Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day and received by the Friday after Election Day.
  • To any advance voting location: Ballots can be returned to any advance voting location during voting hours. Election workers will direct you to the ballot bag inside the location.
  • To any Election Day polling location: Ballots can be returned to any Election Day polling location during voting hours. Election workers will direct you to the ballot bag inside the location.
  • To any ballot drop box: Ballot drop boxes are available 24/7 beginning 20 days before an election. The boxes close at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
