The August 5, 2025 primary election in Johnson County, Kansas will be held for only one (1) contest race: the City of Lenexa - City Council Ward 1 position
Enough candidates filed for this one contest race to trigger the need to conduct a primary election. The results of this primary election will reduce the number of candidates from the three (3) that filed for the City of Lenexa City Council Ward 1 ballot measure, to only two (2) to be listed on the November 4, 2025 general election ballot.
Advance in-person voting will be held at only two (2) locations for this primary election:
- Johnson County Election Office in Olathe - starting on Saturday, July 26th
- Lenexa City Hall - starting on Wednesday, July 30th

Any registered voter residing within the City of Lenexa City Council Ward 1 voting area can apply to vote by mail for the August 5th primary election. No reason is required, but a completed and signed mail-ballot application must be submitted.

Mail ballots are processed to be mailed to voters starting 20-days prior to election day - which is July 16th for the 2025 August primary election.
