Ballot Question - August 2004

Shall the following be adopted?

Shall a retailers' sales tax in the amount of one-eighth of one percent (.125%) be renewed by levy in the city of Lenexa, Kansas (the "City"), for the purpose of paying the cost of improving the City's watershed system, including purchasing land, constructing watershed improvements with recreational amenities and paying the principal of and interest on revenue bonds issued to pay the cost of such storm drainage improvements and all things necessary and related to such improvements, which are part of the City's watershed management program, provided that such retailers' sales tax shall commence upon expiration of the current .125% storm water levy on October 1, 2005 and expire five years from the date of imposition, all pursuant to K.S.A. 12-187 et seq., and K.S.A. 12-195 et seq.?
