A Charter Ordinance exempting the City of Shawnee, Kansas from the provisions of K.S.A. 41-712 prohibiting alcoholic liquor sales on Sunday and certain holidays

take effect?

Shall the following be adopted?

Shall Charter Ordinance No. 33, entitled:

A Charter Ordinance levying a .125% retailers' sales tax for the purpose of financing, constructing and equipping a public safety center and for other public safety purposes; enacting other provisions relating to the levying and collecting of a local retailers' sales tax; and exempting the city from K.S.A. 12-187 and K.S.A. 12-189.

take effect?


Question

Shall the following be adopted?

"Shall the City of Shawnee, Kansas, continue to levy the retailers' sales tax of .125% with approximately one-half of the revenue therefrom pledged for use for acquiring or improving land for park or recreation purposes and approximately one-half for storm drainage improvements, including repayment of bonds issued for those purposes, said tax to continue for an additional ten (10) years commencing on January 1, 2006, when the current sales tax levied for the same purposes expires."
