Ballot Question - November 2004 
Shall the following be adopted?
Ballot Title: Shall the Method of Election and Voting Plan for Members
of the Board of Education of USD #233 be changed to a District Method
and Voting Plan B?
The existing Method of Election for members to the Board of Education
for USD #233 is the at-large method. All seven members on the Board are
elected on an at-large basis.
The existing Voting Plan A (K.S.A. 72-8003) allows all electors
residing in the school district to vote for all member positions in a
primary and general election.
The proposed Method of Election is a district method with three
districts. Each district would have two member positions on the Board.
A seventh member position would be elected on an at-large basis. Districts
would be as follows:
District 1 shall include the area in USD #233
south of 143rd St. It shall also include the area in USD #233 between
Ridgeview and Pflumm Roads that is bounded on the north by 135th St. and
bounded on the south by 143rd St.
District 2 shall include the area in USD
#233 east of Renner Road and north of 119th St. It shall also include
the area in USD #233 east of Ridgeview Road between 119th and 135th Streets,
and the area in USD #233 east of Pflumm Road and south of 135th St.
District 3 shall include the area in USD
#233 west of Renner Road and north of 119th Street. It shall also include
the area in USD #233 west of Ridgeview Road between 119th and 143rd Streets.
The proposed Voting Plan B (K.S.A. 72-8003) (1) allows all electors
who reside in a member district to vote in the primary election for the
member positions of such member district and for the at-large member position,
and (2) allows all electors who reside in the school district to vote
in the general election for all member positions, including the at-large
member position.

"Shall a change in the method of election or voting plan or both, as described in the ballot title above, be approved?"
