Johnson County - Question No. 1
Shall the following be adopted?
The HOME RULE CHARTER for Johnson County, Kansas, as proposed in the Final Report of the Johnson County Charter Commission, dated May 11, 2000, containing provisions for the exercise of powers, administration and organization of Johnson County Government, including provisions for the appointment of a County Manager and the conversion of the County Clerk, Register of Deeds, and County Treasurer positions from elected to appointed offices effective in 2004 or at the end of the term for office holders elected in the year 2000.
Johnson County - Question No. 2
If the proposition contained in Question No. 1 is adopted, approving the HOME RULE CHARTER for Johnson County, Kansas, then shall the following be adopted?
ALTERNATIVE ARTICLE II, entitled BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, replacing all of the Article II provisions contained in the Home Rule Charter and providing for an increase in the membership of the Board of County Commissioners from five to seven members by adding one new Commissioner District and a Commissioner to be elected at-large who serves as the Chair of the Commission.
Johnson County - Question No. 3
If the proposition contained in Question No. 1 is adopted, approving the HOME RULE CHARTER for Johnson County, Kansas, then shall the following be adopted?
ALTERNATIVE ARTICLE III, entitled METHOD OF ELECTION OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS,
replacing all of the Article III provisions contained in the Home Rule Charter
and providing for the non-partisan election of Johnson County Commissioners.
