Leawood

The City of Leawood is a First Class City with four wards. An election is held every two years (even numbered years). Leawood is served by a Mayor and eight Council Members, two from each ward. All are elected to four year terms. Four Council Members will be elected in 2000 and the Mayor and four Council Members will be elected in 2002.

Leawood - Question Submitted

"Shall the City of Leawood, Kansas, be authorized to levy a one-eighth of one percent (.125%) City Retailers' Sales Tax, in addition to the one percent (1.0%) currently levied, within the City of Leawood, Kansas, and to use the revenue from the additional tax to fund an accelerated residential and thoroughfare street improvement program and to fund stormwater improvement projects which are not otherwise eligible for funding from other governmental sources, such additional tax to take effect on July 1, 2000, and to end June 30, 2005?"


Mission

The City of Mission is a Second Class City with four wards. An election is held every year. Mission is served by a Mayor and eight Council Members, two from each ward. All are elected to two year terms. Four Council Members are elected in 2000, and the Mayor and four Council Members will be elected in 2001.

Prairie Village

The City of Prairie Village is a First Class City with six wards. An election is held in most odd and even numbered years. Prairie Village is served by a Mayor and twelve Council Members, two from each ward. All are elected to four year terms. Six Council Members will be elected in 2000. Six Council Members will be elected in 2002. The Mayor will be elected in 2003.

All are elected to two year terms. Four Council Members are elected in 2000, and the Mayor and four Council Members will be elected in 2001.

Westwood

The City of Westwood is a Third Class City with two precincts. Elections are held in even numbered years. Westwood is served by a Mayor and five Council Members At-Large. All are elected to four year terms. The Mayor and two Council Members At-Large will be elected in 2000. Three Council Members At-Large will be elected in 2002.
