            <itunes:summary>To register to vote or to change your registration, you can complete the attached application.  Applications that can be mailed to the Election Office at 2101 E. Kansas City Road in Olathe, Kansas 66061 or faxed to 913-791-8934.

To register and be eligible to vote, you must be a United States citizen, a resident of the State of Kansas, and at least 18 years old on or before the next election day. You must include your Kansas driver's license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number on the application. 

You may register to vote at any time. However, voter registration always closes 21 days prior to an Election Day. Registration forms must be postmarked no later than the 15th day before an election in order to be eligible to vote.

Anytime you change your name or address, or wish to change your party affiliation, you must complete a new voter registration applicaton to update your records.

            <itunes:subtitle>Advance Voting Application</itunes:subtitle>
            <itunes:summary>Advance voting in Johnson County is easy and convenient. To vote in advance by mail, voters must complete the attached Application for an Advance Voting Ballot by Mail and then fax or mail it to the Johnson County Election Office. The address and fax numbers are on the form. 

Advance voting by mail begins 20 days before every election. Applications are accepted any time, although we do not begin to mail out ballots until 20 days prior to each election. Your voted ballot may be returned by mail or hand-delivered to the Election Office.  After business hours, a drop box is available at the front entrance. Ballots may not be faxed. To be counted, the ballot must be received, not postmarked, by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Sick or disabled voters may apply for permanent advance voting status. Voters may apply for permanent advance voting status by completing the appropriate question on the Application for an Advance Voting Ballot. When voting in advance, voters must sign and write their residence address on the outside of the ballot envelope. The signature on the outside of the advance ballot envelope must match the name on the mailing label.

            <itunes:summary>Advance voting by mail began on March 16th for the April 5th Election in Johnson County. Applications are being accepted now.

To vote by mail, voters may complete an Application for an Advance Voting Ballot by Mail then fax or mail it to the Johnson County Election Office.  The address and fax numbers are on the form. 

Applications also are available at public libraries and at www.jocoelection.org.

Completed applications must be received at the Election Office before 5:00 p.m. on April 1st.  Your ballot must be returned to the election office by 7 p.m. on April 5th to be counted.  

If you applied for an advance ballot by mail and did not receive it, please call the election office at 913-782-3441.
