            <itunes:summary>To register to vote or to change your registration, you can complete the attached application.  Applications that can be mailed to the Election Office at 2101 E. Kansas City Road in Olathe, Kansas 66061 or faxed to 913-791-8934.

To register and be eligible to vote, you must be a United States citizen, a resident of the State of Kansas, and at least 18 years old on or before the next election day. You must include your Kansas driver's license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number on the application. 

You may register to vote at any time. However, voter registration always closes 14 days prior to an Election Day. Registration forms must be postmarked no later than the 15th day before an election in order to be eligible to vote.

Anytime you change your name or address, or wish to change your party affiliation, you must complete a new voter registration applicaton to update your records.

            <itunes:summary>Advance voting in Johnson County is easy and convenient. To vote in advance by mail, voters must complete the attached Application for an Advance Voting Ballot by Mail and then fax or mail it to the Johnson County Election Office. The address and fax numbers are on the form. 

Advance voting by mail begins 20 days before every election. Applications are accepted any time, although we do not begin to mail out ballots until 20 days prior to each election. Your voted ballot may be returned by mail or hand-delivered to the Election Office.  After business hours, a drop box is available at the front entrance. Ballots may not be faxed. To be counted, the ballot must be received, not postmarked, by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Sick or disabled voters may apply for permanent advance voting status. Voters may apply for permanent advance voting status by completing the appropriate question on the Application for an Advance Voting Ballot. When voting in advance, voters must sign and write their residence address on the outside of the ballot envelope. The signature on the outside of the advance ballot envelope must match the name on the mailing label.

            <itunes:summary>Technically, all Johnson County voters may vote in the August 3rd primary election.  

The Democratic August Primary Election is open to unaffiliated voters and voters registered as Democrats.  Unaffiliated voters may affiliate or may vote in the primary without changing their affiliation to be Democratic if they prefer.

The Republican August Primary Election is open only to those registered as Republicans and unaffiliated voters who wish to affiliate as Republicans by filling out a new declaration card on election day.  

Libertarian, Reform, and Unaffiliated voters are eligible to vote on non-partisan races. All relevant non-partisan races also appear on the Democratic and Republican ballots.

Primary voting rules are established by the parties and state law, and are not established by the election office.  Voters may cast only one ballot in any election.

The official candidate list, showing Democratic and Republican candidates for national, state, county, township and precinct committee men and women, is posted at www.jocoelection.org.

            <itunes:summary>Any registered voter may vote at any one of four locations beginning July 20.

Advance voting locations are:

	Metcalf South Shopping Center, Northwest Mall entrance at 9531 Metcalf in Overland Park
	Johnson County Northeast Offices at 6000 Lamar in Mission 
	Ten Quivira Plaza at 12156 Shawnee Mission Parkway, located one block west of Quivira Road on Charles Street in Shawnee

	These 3 sites are open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Advance voting at these sites ends on Saturday, July 31st.

	Advance voting hours at the Election Office are weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Advance voting at the Election Office ends on Monday, August 2nd at 12:00 noon.

	The Election Office is located at 2101 E Kansas City Road in Olathe near the Bass Pro Shop.
